Alleged Darien lotto ticket thief caught in Fairfield

Darien police have arrested a man accused of stealing $240 in lottery tickets from the Exxon Mobile gas station in Darien on Aug. 2. Ryan Remundo, 32, of Islip, N.Y. was allegedly caught repeating the crime at a Fairfield gas station, and is also accused of stealing lottery tickets in Ridgefield and Norwalk.

Remundo was arrested by Darien police on Sept. 26 for larceny and was taken to court the following day. A second suspect who was in the car with Remundo at the time of the theft was identified by police but no arrest was made.

According to police Remundo cashed the stolen tickets in for $100 on the day of the theft.
