Lean Machine sign-ups underway at the Darien YMCA

screen-shot-2016-12-16-at-10-56-21-amRegistration is now underway for Lean Machine, the Darien YMCA’s customized system for losing weight and getting fit.

The program begins another installment on Saturday, Jan. 7  to help kick start a healthy new year. The competition runs for eight weeks, ending Saturday, March 4.

This customized system is designed for adults of all ages and fitness levels, and includes a competition based on body fat lost, as opposed to weight lost.

Individuals who participate in Lean Machine lose an average of nine inches and close to 4% of their body fat. The Lean Machine has had over 266 participants in multiple sessions over the past three years.

This year’s Lean Machine features the Y’s new InBody 570 body composition assessment tool which provides precise measurements of body fat percentage, lean muscle mass and water weight distribution. Using the InBody for Lean Machine assessments will provide even more detailed information so that participants can understand how to plan targeted workouts and eating regimens to maximize their results.

Participants receive the following throughout the competition: two group personal training sessions per week, eight guided health coaching workshops with certified coach Carol Haggerty Reardon, additional office hours to meet one-on-one with Reardon, a weekly health coaching advice and exercise plan, optional weekly weigh-ins, a 10% discount at Little Bites Café throughout the duration of the competition, 20% off all personal training packages purchased from Feb. 19 to March 4, a ‘We’re All In” water bottle, and a chance to win one of three amazing prizes. Participants also have constant support from a private Facebook group to share tips and questions with Lean Machine coaches.

Lean Machine participants are eligible to win over $3,000 in prizes such as one free month membership, 10-pack of personal training sessions, massages and more! The biggest prize, however, might be the new lifestyle that comes from competing in Lean Machine.

Registration is currently taking place at the Darien YMCA Wellness Center and is available for individuals age 15 and up. Lean Machine program fee is $470 for members of the Darien YMCA, and $570 for non-members.
