Town of Darien seeks volunteers for committee and board vacancies

The Town of Darien currently has volunteer positions open.

Two of the most popular town events are the annual Memorial Day Parade and the July 4th Fireworks Celebration. Both of these extremely popular events are in need of people to chair and serve on the planning committees. Additionally, in 2020 the Town of Darien will proudly celebrate 200 years since becoming incorporated and we would like to form a bi-centennial committee to begin planning recognition of this special occasion. Please contact the Selectmen’s office to work on any of these events.

At present, several of the Town Boards, Commissions and Committees are in need of volunteers and would welcome  interest, including:

  • Advisory Committee on Government TV
  • Architectural Review Board
  • Beautification Commission
  • Energy & Recycling Advisory Committee
  • Monuments & Ceremonies
  • Youth Commission

All groups must maintain minimum party representation as State mandated, so please contact your party representative(s) or the Selectman’s Office to see where there are openings.
